Insurance Education
Insurance can be complicated! Here are a few common things to know about your insurance when looking for a therapist.
Deductible: A deductible is the amount you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance will assist. Deductibles are often reset annually and have an individual and family limit.
Pre-Authorization: Some plans require you, the patient, to call in advance to receive authorization for services. Failure to do so can result in you being responsible for the entire fee.
In-Network: Many insurance companies have providers who they have contracted with. Using one of these providers ensures maximum coverage.
Out-Of Network: Some plans allow individuals to see a provider outside of the network. This will likely led to a higher deducible and/or co pay in comparison to in network providers.
